Top Coat

Top Coat is the final layer on furniture painting. Top Coat must have a good quality. Having enough flexible violence and certainly not easily scratched. Top Coat also has gloss with units percent level. High Gloss = 90-100% and Matt 0-10%. Gloss of Top Coat paint is measured when it is dry with Glossmeter tool.

To generate a Top Coat which isn't easily scratched, can by adding additives. But by adding additives could rest for nothing if not backed by a good binder as well. Similarly, for exterior paint. Binder for Top Coat should not turn yellow(yellowing effect) if exposed to sunlight. Top Coat will be more resistance to weathers when supported by additives. Unlike the Top Coat is used for interior furniture. Top Coat for the interior doesn't require additives for resistance to weather. In addition to never exposed to sunlight, will also affect to the price.

Colored Top Coat just use  Colored Pigments  that serves as a dyes, Such as Titanium Dioxide (TiO2), which provides a white color. If the Top Coat using Pigment Extenders will affect scratch and gloss. The more Pigment Extenders used then scratch will increasingly ugly and lower gloss. Use of Colored Pigments should be limited, so the adhesion still pretty good. While in transparent top coat did not use the Extender Pigments or Colored Pigments. So solid content depends on the percentage of top coat binder usage.
