Water Based Paint

Although it has been developed PUD(Poly Urethane Dispersion) which have better results but it is much more expensive. How about the pigment used? Pigment used doesn't differ much with the pigment used in the solvent based. Often the pigment extenders used are calcium carbonate type which having cheapest price.

Because the nature of the polymer is non polar while water is polar, this cause water based paint has many weaknesses. So that more water based paints use various additives. Additives did not escape from the raw materials that are not allowed by some furniture buyers. Like APEO(Alkylphenol Ethoxylates). In some countries this material are not used anymore because it is toxic to aquatic life.

Although water based paints more environmentally friendly, but in the selection of raw materials paint is also expected to meet the regulations and requirements.
