Paint Components

Knowing your paints is to understand why this blog exists. And also there is the meaning of paint. Do you know what are paint components? Not a few people didn't know about paint components. Of the many components of the paint can be divided into :

The most important component of paint is binder. For a paint maker, binder is the key to make a good paint. Because the binder is to determine the adhesion of paint. If the result of poor paint adhesion, then the first will be checked is the binder of the paint. Binder can determines whether for interior or exterior paint. Whether flexible or hard. Is the chemical test of paint passes or not (according to the requirement of buyer).

The second component is  pigment. Pigment can help the hardness of paint and can also soften the paint to make more easily to sanded. Each pigment has a different character. There are colored pigment and transparent pigment. Pigment which have good transparent used on transparent paint. So it does not affect the transparency of the final result.

The third component of paint is additive. Water-based paint most widely used additive. This is because the nature of water-based binders that require special handling. Additive only as supporting the lack of paint. Not as the main ingredient that affects whether good or not a paint.

This 3 Materials are that always there in the paint. Except pigments if in transparent paint. Apart from the three ingredients above, there was also dyes. Dyes only as a giver of color. In the selection of dyes should also be careful. There are several dyes weather-resistant dyes(exterior) and some are only for the interior (not weatherproof). From the materials used there are still using the heavy metal like lead(Pb) and others are not using. In some countries, heavy metals are not used anymore. Since it's very toxic.
