Top Coat Water Based

Knowing basic paint is essential if you wan to paint your furniture. Or may be you want to repair and repaint the house furniture, baby crib or your child's toys which made from wood. Is the paint you use is safe for your family or your child? You should know that all the paint is not necessarily safe for your family's health. Knowing the right paint for furniture will save your time and cost.

Water based paints are very environmentally friendly because it based on water. Largely paint components used also based on water. But there are some components are toxic or corrosive. For example, biocides additives which function as resistance against fungal. This material will make the itching on the skin if it stands alone. But with proper use will not cause irritation. And more secure if it is in the form of paint. Because the content of this material is very little.

Type water based paints including top coat water based. Top coat water based is a water based paint that used as the final layer that based on water. Top coat water based can be a solid color and transparent(lacquer). Solid color water based used to cover the complete surface of the wood, so wood fibers doesn't appear again. While transparent or lacquer used for those of you who liked the show wood fibers. Top coat solid color combine with primer water based. While at transparent system using sanding sealer water based as base coat and lacquer as top coat. Sometimes several furniture companies use primer water based as a base coat and combined with top coat  transparent(lacquer) to get high gloss level (90-100%).

Top coat water based is major determinant of the quality of the furniture. Some furniture buyer wants a particular specification for the final outcome of furniture. Among them resistant to water(in a certain period). Is it possible that top coat water based that comes from water can hold water? Yes it can if at drying paint. But not all the top coat. The quality of top coat water based comes from the binder used. In addition, the drying of top coat water based(1 component) that only from evaporation can lead to poor quality of paint. If drying water based paints can not be perfect, the paint quality will also be less of good. This is because the binder does not completely form perfect layer to cover the entire surface.

In addition to quality that is determined by the binder, top coat water based also very dependent on the additives used. Such as anti scratch, lowering the surface tension, lowering MFFT, and biocides. Of course, wetting and dispersion additives must not contain APEO(Alkylphenol ethoxylates). Some anti scratch additives can improve the quality of paint and have resistance to water at state drying paint. While the fungus is a challenge for the users of water based paints. If ignored for too long water based paints will rot. water based paints makers are very aware of this. Then a powerful biocide additives necessary but must be environmentally friendly too. And remember, top coat water based must be low VOC(Volatile Organic Compound) too.

Currently many top coat water based used for interior furniture. Still not a lot of furniture companies that use top coat water based as an exterior paint. This is because the resistance of top coat water based to weather more less powerful. but why? Most of the top coat is still using emulsion binder. Unlike top coat water based used binders from PUD or top coat water based 2 components. For paint companies, create top coat water based 1 components which is resistant to weather in a long time is a challenge.
